The Admissions Team at The Ohio State
University College of Dentistry has recently completed a unique recruitment
initiative that showcases the artistic side of Dentistry while promoting
people, excellence and tradition.
The Ohio State University is rich in traditions ---
whether it is wearing scarlet and gray on game day, or, the O-H-I-O sharing
of buckeye pride. One long standing tradition that is certain to pull on
the heartstrings of all alumni is the singing of the alma mater.
Entitled “Carmen Ohio” this video, filmed on campus and in the
elegant and visually stunning Ohio Union, stars our very own College of
Dentistry students, admissions staff and faculty. While a powerful yet
modern version of Carmen Ohio is played in the background, you will hear the
magnificent singing voices of our dental students, admissions staff and
faculty.
The students who appear represent each of the four dental classes
(2011-2014), and, the featured dancer is a current DDS/PHD student.
From the initial
concept, to the composition of the music, to the singing arrangement, to the
filming --- this video project was the creative and collective vision of the
Admissions Team.
The passion for
tradition is abundantly evident in this artistic performance of The Ohio
State University’s alma mater.
While showcasing our extremely talented students, faculty and staff, this
short video blends the art of Dentistry with the tradition of OSU with the
intent of attracting the best and the brightest applicants from across the
country and all over the world.
We are all so very proud to be part of this grand University! Thank you so
